19-year-old Borneo-born, Filipino-Chinese, Australia-raised singer/songwriter Estée Evangeline Pairin Kitingan, AKA estée, started her musical journey by singing and performing at the young age of 6, competing every year in her school’s talent show. The first song she recorded at age 7 was a duet written by her jazz-loving mother, Angelina Perete, called ‘Butterfly Baby’ which can still be listened to on streaming platforms today. Inspired by this, and Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana, estée started writing songs after moving to Adelaide, South Australia when she was 11, and released her first single, ‘Fifth Time’, at the end of her graduating year of high school, attracting herself an international audience.

Her sweetly innocent, wholesome, bubbly personality is encapsulated by her atmospheric, angel dust, vulnerable bedroom-pop sound, infused with her smooth and soulful RnB melodies, captivating and inspiring lovers and dreamers around the world with her candy sweet voice. Her artistry is versatile, being inspired by artists such as Ariana Grande, UMI, Billie Eilish, Clairo, Tori Kelly, and SZA, which has helped to create her staple starry-eyed sound that is soft and comforting by nature. She has collectively amassed over a million streams to date, with her most popular song being ‘be my somebody new,’ a collaboration with Skim.prod, garnering 800,000 streams on Spotify in only 7 months with the help of the Spotify algorithm and TikTok.

Estée supported Pinkish Blu at their final show in October 2021 and is yet to perform at WOMADelaide in2022 – she intends to release her debut EP in that same year. She is already expanding her artistry by writing, recording, and producing demos in her bedroom, and plans to eventually produce for other artists. Estée is more than just a sweet face and is a firecracker force to be reckoned with, and there is nothing that can get between her and everything she wants.
